According to reports Apple has issued a preview version of the upcoming iPhone 2.1 Firmware. Varying reports from those that have used it claim that it contains new core location features that could facilitate turn-by-turn GPS, something not quite possible with the existing iPhone firmware. Core location tracks your direction and the speed at which you are travelling, enabling the same type of functionality you would find on a Sat Nav device.
Also said to be included is support for copy and paste. Many users have complained that lack of copy and paste is one of the most serious drawbacks of the iPhone. The inclusion of this type of functionality would bring the iPhone into line with its competitors in the smart phone market.
